Sunroof Drainage for E320
It rained hard for a couple of days and I noticed there are leaks on the corners of my headliner. I check my sunroof and it looks fine. I have a feeling that the drainage of the sunroof is clogged up. I just need to know how many holes there are that I need to clean and what is the easiest way to fix my problem?
Please let me know so that I can resolve this immediately. Thanks in advance. |

Is it a sedan or wagon? Check a thread I started about 1 week ago dealing with this. It could be that the sedan drains from the front and the wagon drains out the tail gate?

Thanks DTF for the quick response. I called the Benz dealer and they told me there are 4 channels for drainage, 1 for every corner. I'm not sure if they're giving me the right info though. So I ordered the part which I think is just a rubber tubing and cost around $7 each. Anyway, I went to my mechanic and had air blown into the 2 front drains and just hoping the dirt will clear. We can't see the rear drains so I'm just hoping that the 2 front drains will at least help until I find an answer to my problem.
I'm going to check with my body shop and try to find out if there are really 4 drains for the sunroof and if they can replace it. If you or anybody who reads this know any info about my problem please let me know. Thanks again. |

There are four drains, one each corner. The front two run down the "A" pillar, and the rear two down the "C" pillar (sedan) with the rear drains coming out in the rear wheel well. Open the sun roof to access the front drains, use the tilt up to access the rear drains.

Do you have any idea how much it's gonna cost me to have all the rubber hose replaced? I already have the hose which I got from the dealer. By the way, my car is a 1998 and does it really need to be replaced? I'm not sure how long the rubber hose normally last.
