Glow plug diagnositc code/light come on
 

Hello, this question is for my 92 300D 2.5 turbo with 320,000 miles.

Right now when i go to start the car, the glow plug light does NOT come on. AFTER i just start the car, the light will come on for 1 minute, then go off.

If i remember correctly, isnt there a fault code with this? for example, if the glow plug light "blinks" that means you have a glow plug out but if it doesnt come on its a relay?

BTW, all 5 glowplugs were replaced about 2 years ago. I cant remember when the relay was last replaced.

Yes, you most likely have a bad glow plug. The light comes on after starting when at least one plug is bad.

thank you MB doc. its my luck that this happens when its cold and rainy outside, lol. i guess i will have my weekend and knuckles busy.
