Ovp?!
I'm at my wits end with my totally random no start with a warm engine. Everything is fine, I can hear the car try to start, but the engine doesn't turn, nothing.... similar to starting the car in gear (or trying to). So I assumed Neutral Safety Switch, so i had that replaced, problem IS better, but still might not start. I just keep trying and/or wait and it'll eventually start (up to 4 hrs). Lately, I've been flicking the OVP and the car will then start... perhaps my OVP has failed again at it's 2nd 70,000 mile mark? Only thing is... the engine doesn't turn as it would with a failed OVP. I get nothing.
What do you guys think? THanks!

Just an update...
Ever since I started flicking the OVP (the first & only time), the car has not yet failed to start ( - & - = +). ![]() It looks like the failed part is the OVP. It's just weird because I get the engine turning.

What is the part # of the OVP in your car? If it's the 52 45 replace it! If it's the 67 45 it's probably OK.

My OVP is the old part number! It's the 45, not 67. But it does say it's Made in Germany. Usually the austrian OVPs were bad, and germans good.
Anyway, i'm now using my original OVP (not sure why i kept it!) and the car is perfect again. Not for long i'm sure, I've ordered a new one, definitly 67! thanks

What do you mean by "flicking" the OVP? Many thanks. Thom

Flick... with my fingers. Or "tap" on the OVP.
