Hi All,

I just got back from a trip to S.F. from OC. I had a pit stop near mid-way, I hopped back into my car when I started the engine it wouldnt start but made a really fast clicking noise and the interior light flickered on and off according to the clicking noise. I tried it a couple of times then it finally started. I got into the car and heard a clicking noise (which I never heard before) the clicking noise would be intermittent between 4-6 seconds. It seemed like it came from inside the glove compartment. When I got to SF I checked in at the Moorpark, then went back to the car to get a couple of things. When I popped the trunk, the handle did not come out, the trunk did not suck back in, then I tested the electronics inside the car. The car doors car does suck in, the one touch window function does not work, the window does not go down when I open the door, the trunk button does not work and the lock/unlock button does not work.

I think this is the cause of one malfunctioned part.

Please help. BTW my baby is a S500 coupe.

Sounds like your battery is dead. Have you tried jumping to get it to Sears? They'll test the old and sell you a new one.

That happened to me once. All I did to get rid of it was to set the alarm on and off once. (It was a mulfunctioning car alarm)

I have a opinion: when your battery went dead, it affected two things. The auto window can be reset via the window switch,by running it up using the first detent on the switch and then holding it fully for a moment or so when it is up. I think the manual covers it. The door and trunk pulling in are controlled by a vacum pump, there are fuses in the trunk there is one roughly in the center of the fuse box, pull out wait a few minutes and put back in. What you heard under the dash was the climate control vacum relays, which are controlled by the locking pump which provides aqdditional vacum when needed, since there is very little when accelerating and such. You might search the forums also

After looking at your post, the vacum pump that handles lock, unlock, the A/C, backup rods, orthopedic seats, and the handle are the same. Check it out 94 and on had a issue with a bad hose, page 78 this months STAR, replacement hose available

Hi Guys/Gals,

I took my car to my friend's house last night, he's a mechanic at House of Imports (Buena Park). The pump (vacuum) in the back right rear seat is toasted. This is going to cost me about freaking $900 to fix. We still haven't found out what is the problem with the starting situation...He think's its the starter or the flywheel, but if its the starter it would not make any noise. We tested the battery and its fine...I've had my car since August/September of 2002 and have already replaced the "convenience regulator" for $200...now this...I'm very distraught. Any other help or suggestion would be so appreciated.

try sending the seller an email asking him if he is welling to sell you the part outside the auction and how much. this way you don't have to wait 4 days and have someone over bids you with 1 dollar like it happens to me all the time. When you buy from e-bay and you really want the item, you have to sit and watch it until the last minute of the auction. Someone else may be doing the same thing, but at least have up to the last second to make your mind up how bad you want it.

Look for when the auction expires. Make sure you're registered. Be on the computer and ready as the clock ticks down in case you're out bid. This is how you minimize your cost. When bidding, consider that the alternative may be the $900 one.

Have you bid on ebay before? Are you aware of how it all works?
I lost good bids because i didn't do it right. The bid is say $49 and you have say 4 days left. Stand by and add this auction to your watch list. Know exactly when it ends and then 2 minutes before it ends if no one else bids you can bid ...say $100 on it and make sure eBay does the bedding for you (it usually does) so it'll show you the highest bidder (assuming no one else bids) then you could get it for $49. if someone else already made a bid, then go for something like $180 for it. If someone else is waiting like you are, then he will try to outbids you, but with $5 price and no bidders i doubt it'll go that high at the end. My initial thought is to not risk it at all and send the seller an email asking him how much he wants to sell it right now? I sold many things on ebay to people that asked me to cancel my auctions and get direct money for it… it can be done especially if there were no bidders. If the guy wants $100 take it. This auction has no reserve that pretty much means the guy is happy with 50 bucks. Don’t offer him anything, make him tell you what he wants. If you are comfortable waiting until end of auction then do what I mentioned above. Another way to look at this is if you could get it for 20% of the actual cost when it's new, then you got a bargain. so 20% of 900 is $180. So make that your top price when you bid and this baby is yours. you still saved hundreds on $$. Save them for something else to fix later just kidding! bottom line, if this part fits yours DON"T LOSE IT! Let me know how it all goes. After reading your initial post, I think you must win this auction
