extremewarranty.com - experience?
Has anyone here had experience with this or any other aftermarket warranty companies. These guys are offering a 24 month, 36,000 mile warranty on my car for about $2Gs. I want to get some "references" before I plunk down this kind of cash, but I don't want to procrastinate until my condensor craps out on me.
Thanks a bunch. www.extremewarranty.com |

Just wanted to bring this back to the first page. Any aftermarket warranty comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

My 2 cents...
My take on extended warranties is that a company wouldn't offer it unless thay made money off of it. It is unlike buying insurance... you buy it if you can't afford the loss. When it comes to extended car warranties (or appliance, electronic, or even toasters!), I prefer to self-insure. Yes, it's a crap-shoot, but the odds are with you when you self-insure and, much as it hurts, I can afford the repairs.

I agree with you generally. In fact, I really despise paying $1,300 per year for collision insurance considering my driving record. The cost of homeowner's insurance has gone astronomical, especially here in Texas, with the mold farce.
With an auto warranty the big difference is the perceived value at resale. I look at as a possible investment which may at least be partially recovered if and when I sell the car. And as much as I am infatuated with this car, it is not practical for me as a daily driver. Plus I am 6'4". I hear lots of credit given to Starmark warrantys. Wuold you buy one for your car if it were available? I'm thinking about the A/C, tranny, diff., head gasket, wheel bearings, etc. The big ticket items that could pay for the warranty the first time used. Your opinions? I know everybody has one. |

Dave, are you implying that the E320 cab doesn't fit you because of your height? I too and 6'4". Thanks to the adjustable seating the car seems to fit me fine.

Yeah Kestas, I am relatively comfortable in the car. I's just that with more than one passenger, the back seats are pretty much good only for short trips, without much in and out. I sell houses for a living and the car is not the best choice for my business.
Getting a little off topic. But I had a Tahoe before this car. Apples to oranges comaprison, but sometimes I miss the space. I wish I had both cars. Should have kept the Tahoe and bought this one. |
