Self leveling suspension anybody?
 

I need to adjust the SLS on my 87 190 16v so that it puts the weight on the new h&r lowering springs i put in (and so the back dosent look like a 4x4) anybody know how, or where i can find out how to do this?

In the rear there is a connecting rod that is attached between the differential and the self-levelling valve that reacts to load changes. If you look at the link carefully you will see that it is theaded; if you loosen, or lenghten this rod, the ride hieght will change correspondingly. You'll need to loosen the two jam nuts, then lengthen the connecting rod. Hope this helps.

Thanks Antony, im assuming that if i shorten the overall length of the rod then the car will lower? and if i increse the overall length the car will raise?

Did you ever get a answer to this? I need to raise my car a bit. Do I shorten or lengthen the rod?

to lift the end you have to shorten the connection rod.

The car will move with the regulation rod at the self leveling valve. If you lower that rod (lengthen the connection rod) the car will come down.
If you lift the rod (shorten the connection rod) the car will go up.

Chris is correct - with the lever of the valve more downward (because you've lengthened the rod) the valve remains open, preventing fluid pressure buildup (which is what elevates the car via the hydro struts)
