ML transfer case - Neutral Position?

ML Transfer Case has only Low and High. Theoretically, is it possible to put it in neutral either manually by turning the shift motor or shaft by hand, or electrically by disconnecting control module and using some kind of electrical device to rotate motor half way? What is the purpose of 4 position wires from the position encoder?
I'm looking at the picture in the manual, and it looks like there is enough space for the sliding reduction hub to stay without engagement in between two "legal" positions.
Thanks, Mike

To illustrate my question - pictures A and B from the manual:
A - High ratio 1:1
B - Low ratio 2.64:1
1 - Input Flange
2 - Intermediate Flange
11 - Reduction Hub
13 - Shift Fork
18 - Planet Gear
19 - Planet Carrier

Picture C is Photoshop edited to show hypotetical Neutral.
Is it possible?

MB bought the cheapest Borg-Warner transfer case made to keef the cost down! IF they were thinking they would have spent another $100. & gotten the BW transfer case with neutral designed for TOWING behind a RV.
