How do you remove coverlay?

I have an odd question. I have a 1985 230TE. I would like to change the speakers. The previous owner put a coverlay dash on the car. The coverlay covers the edges of the speaker grills. Any ideas on how to remove the speakers with the coverlay? Also my coverlay is cracked. Any ideas on how to remove it completely?

Perhaps this link may help:

Thanks for the reply but there is not information on the Do it yourself section that will help. My wagon is a 123. The question really isn't how to remove teh speaker covers as I already know how to do that on a factory dash. The real question is how in the world do you remove a coverlay dash cover that has been installed on the car. I was thinking heat might help but wanted some other ideas before I tried anything crazy. The coverlay is cracked plus you can not remove the speaker covers with a coverlay in place on a 123. Any ideas?

Thanks
Chuck

I emailed Coverlay and below is the response I received back. Sounds easy enough.

"If the original silicone was used to put it on, the cover should be fairly
easy to remove. Just start in any corner and pry it off with a putty knife.
If installed properly, there should be very little adhesive on it. If you
need further info, please call Mark at 1-800-633-7090."
