Please help me identify this rubber hose.

Dear friends:

After removing the encapsulation cover under my 1994 Mercedes c220's engine block, I saw that leaked engine oil has damaged a rubber hose (diameter ~ 1 inch and length ~ 5 inches) that connects an aluminum tube coming from the starter to another long straight aluminum tube going up to some vacuum assembly located near the top oil dipstick tube. I would like to replace this rubber hose but could not figure out its purpose and part number.

Could someone please help me identify this rubber hose and possible its part number?

Thank you very much in advance.

Eric

Not sure what you mean.

Which oil dipstick? engine oil is the one at the front of the engine on the right side of the car, transmission is at the back of the engine, also on the right side of the car.

Aluminium tube - there is nothing like that connected to the starter, exactly where does it come from?

Where abouts is the rubber pipe in relation to the engine?

Could be heater, transmission oil cooling, power steering. On my E220 there is such a pipe under the crankshaft pulley but that's for the self levelling suspension and goes from the pump to the rear of the car, nowhere near the starter.

A photo would help.
