Did the ELR connector at the back of the injection pump come off? Only affects idle.
Might need new delivery valve seals. Check balance, check compression. Is the upper radiator hose too stiff to pinch with your fingers when the engine's idling? Is there pressure in the cooling system hours after you turn off the engine? Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD

it is a 6 cyl? not the OLD 5 cyl...?
is the injection Timing Correct? airbubbles in the fuel hose?
