Anyone.... What are blue ion blues and were can I find them? They were suggested to me by another Mercedes owner.

I hate to let you down, but, SKIP the bulb, and use stock....because unless you will use over-watt bulbs, Blue Ion bulbs can actually DECREASE the light output....

Use SEARCH, and search for PIAA, BULBS.....and we had lots of comments on aftermarket bulbs. Maybe look through them first, and if you have more Qs, I will try my best to help.....

Ooops, forgot to tell about Blue Ion...

Blue tint usually is what makes the bulbs look bluish(or Xenon-Like). PIAA SuperWhite, and other HID-LOOK use blut tint glass. However Blue Ion give out blue, and a bit of others. More like rainbow lights than pure blue lights.....

Check out www.autosupermart.com. They compare the Piaas to Solaris. Solaris comes with a 7-day money back guarantee and a 1-year pro-rated exchange for defects. I have the Piaas on one car and the Solaris on the E. I feel that the Solaris are closer (in color) to the OEM/HID bulbs than the Piaas. Naturally, both are not even close to the HID's intensity. I suggest the Sylvania Cool Blue bulbs. I recently installed a pair in my 300E and am very satisfied. They really illuminate the road better with their whiter light. I always keep all of my cars totally original, but this is the exception--these bulbs are great. You can find them at most auto parts stores for around $15/each.

Aaron,
Will those work on a R129? I have read so much about lights on this board, but still confused as to what to use to increase night visibility. I do not want to modify my car, or alot time spent on replacing two lights, just want better lighting for night driving as my R129 is a daily driver. Thanks for any help.

US version of R129 has seperated headlight like the W124 E-Class. I would highly recommand you go for Euro-Spec lights if possible as Euro-Spec will give you an increase of 30% on light output even with stock H4 bubls. However, if you really just want to get the bulbs, go for Solaris, Sylvania. And go for PIAA ONLY if you are going to use over-watt as normal PIAA Plasma SuperWhite isn't really that bright and "white".....
