w124 brake flushing questions

Hi all,

I plan to flush by brake system on '87 260E and bought MB DOT-4 fluid (0.75 quarts / 25.4 oz)

Is this enough for the job?

Aside from the Power Bleeder, what type wrench do I need for the nipple and what size hose is needed. Is the hose necessary?

Power bleeder isnt really necessary...

Don't let the 15 page posts surrounding brake bleeding make it seem harder than it is. Get a friend and tell him to listen, and you can do it by hand. It'll take all of 10 minutes if you haven't ever done it before .

I think the bleeder screws were 10mm... but I don't remember.. maybe 8mm

Just buy the tall container at the autoparts store of DOT4.. save the rest and cap it tightly

BTW Hose is only so you don't make a mess

a piece of stretchy vacuum line works(I dunno, 5/16 maybe?), or a clear line from an aquarium air pump

All the bleeder screws I've seen on the Benz's are 9mm. I prefer to use a box wrench as it allow free flow of the fluid. Only use a socket to break the bleeder loose.

Can be done without the hose/tubing. The tubing allows for capture of the expelled fluid and no mess on the ground.
