Water pump 86 300E Anything special?

Folks, the fun just keeps increasing....I noticed a pool of coolant under my car after doing an oil change. I suspected the water pump and found about 3/8ths of an inch of free play on the pully and evidence of coolant being spun off.. I have not changed one like this before, anything special about it? Seals O rings etc? Also, is there anything that normally has to come off to replace the pump or gain access, that could be replaced/ upgraded? Thanks Scott

DrBrandini successfully did the job himself very recently, so you may try e-mailing him directly if you have anymore questions.

Exclamation

China,
Little tip 4 U.
U will C a very short water hose about 1.5" i.d. between the pump and the engine , this is visible looking at the top front and right of the engine.
Replace this at the same time with new stainless hose clips , because if it fails any time in the future the pump will have to come out again which is not funny
