Clunking sound rear wheel

I was wondering about struts-seemed O.K.-thought I'd grab top of wheels and check for play-sure enough! the side with the sound has a bit of play. (when tugging from top of tire-in and out) Wheel bearing?
Car seems a bit "light",or "darty" in the front at highway speeds (70mph+) Tire press. at 29 Lbs. cold. Ideas? Needs a lot of attention!
Thanks for the support, great site!
Any ideas on hedlight/fog light adjustment screws? I can turn them all day with no results.

Son in law thinks it may be bearing-he knows a little about cars. I'll have to have it checked out!
I also feel the car is "light" in the front at highway speeds. I'm running 29 lbs. on pretty much basic Michelins.
Thanks for you support-Mel

Each side of your rear suspension has five links to locate the hub. Either end of any of those links could have become loose or the bushing deteriorated. Inspection of each link while it's unloaded should reveal the problem.

A bad wheel bearing would make a continuous, loud, speed-dependent roaring sound if the bearing is bad long before any noticeable play in your test.

Brought her in to shop today. While on the lift he discovered play is in bearing. The "light " front end is the idler arm (I think he said). Anyway there is some play there. Arm or joint to be replaced, front tires to rear, alignment, and all should be well!
This gets better...car suddenly very rough-couldn't get past 2000rpms! Catalytic converter bad-replacing that and rear muffler. What a day!!!!! So glad still under warranty! (exhaust parts $615.00 alone! Didn't catch suspension/alignment pricing!)
Drove our Miata tonite-highway and around back roads to home-first time in a week-what a difference between the two cars!
Take care, thanks for the help, Mel
