current draw

mY 1975 mercedes 230 seems to have a current draw. recently the lights were left on and the car was jump started. the next day was dead again, so I charge the battery, I noticed when reinstalling the battery there was a click and a spark at the terminal. I check to see if anything was on, keys weren't even in ignition, any ideas on what could be drawing current?

How is the car running with the new battery? You may have just killed the old one. I assume when you said you charge the battery and reinstalled what you meant was you CHANGED the battery. The click and spark upon installation doesn't mean anything to me other than the new battery had a charge.

Hi, tmcki

I agree with 95E320cab that a spark often happens when installing a battery. May be the car was not driven enough to charge the battery so it was still empty the next day.
If it does draws a current, conduct a search on that and you will find posts that explain how to narrow them down to the culprit.

Good luck
