Remove and Refit Serpentine Belt on 190 engine

I am about to replace my serpentine belt on a 1995 S500 w140 with the 190 engine.

I think I have located the tension adjuster, but after searching the forum all the ones mentioned seem to have a bolt in the center.

Mine has what looks like the end of a torx screwdriver sticking out of the center of the pulley. I found the posts on how to replace the belt.

How do I loosen this type of tensioner/adjuster and what should I look for to determine if it is worn and should be replaced?

Also how do I retension it after installing the new poly-v belt?

Mike

We'll since no one here knew the answer (or were to busy to answer) I thought I would post what I found out for other new people.

The torx head on the adjuster is there so you can put an E10 torx socket on a "cheater bar" and lever the adjuster over to the left to slaken the belt.

I also found that regardless of what the manuals said I did not have to unbolt or remove anything. Whole job took 10 minutes. paid 15.00 bucks for a year membership to www.alldatadiy.com and found all the drawings, plans, part numbers, detailed instruction and tools needed.
