Mercedes C220 CDI Automatic, about one year old, 30.000 kms.
After one minute of driving there is a sudden power loss. Max speed in D: about 125 km/h, max RPM = about 2750. Switching to 4 or 3 increases the RPM number for one or two seconds. Than there is a slow down again. No engine power, no acceleration. My Mercedes dealer says it happens sometimes: "Just stop the car and wait for some minutes: it will reprogram itself". Tried it, did not work. What causes this? TIA -- André van Deun FileMaker Solutions Associate AVD Computerintegratie BVBA avd@kmonet.be |

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem, how long since fuel filter replacement?? At this point I would replace both of them just to make sure.

If the fuel filters don't take care of it, I'd take off the fuel cap (this will set the check engine light though) to see if the tank is not venting properly. I have seen this before on some older diesels.
