Hey everyone, I have been trying to remove th espark plug wires on my 199 E-320 (W-210) and they seem to be really hard to pull off of the actual spark plug. Is thi snormal, or do I nbeed a special tool to remove these wires?
I am trying not to force them off too hard. Don't want to break anything..... Am I doing this right??

Yeah, they can be tough to dis-connect. You'll probably need a decent pair of plug boot removal pliers. I've seen a few posts in this Forum about using an open-end wrench as a substitute, so maybe some other members can help. You'll have easier access if you remove the ignition coils. Good luck

1. Get plug boot removal pliers ( any auto supply store ).

2. Twist & pull, twist & pull, twist & pull.

3. Get a tube of dielectric grease while you're at the store for your pliers, and apply a small amount of it inside the boots, before you replace them.

What happens is, the new plugwires are installed on the engine during the time of assembly. Within a certain time period, the material of the boot will " cure " and bond itself right to the ceramic on the sparkplug.

The application of dielectric grease will eliminate this, and help seal out moisture at the same time. Try it, you'll like it.

I use the 17mm m110 valve adjustment wrench.
