URGENT Help Needed - Car refuses to lock!!!

Okay my 92 190e 2.6 is acting really weird.

For the past couple days, it has refused to lock via the drivers door lock. It gives you a little bit of resistance when you turn the key to the lock position.

It would lock fine from the passenger and trunk locks.

Now, the drivers door refuses to lock under any condition.

The rest of the locks (other 3 doors and trunk) do go up and down with the trunk and passenger locks, but the drivers door just will not lock.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

George

Did you try sitting in the car and locking it with the inside lock? If it works that way, then it sounds like the door tumbler or the rod going to the door latch. If not, it's probably the door latch itself.

In either case, door disassembly will be necessary.

Hope this helps and good luck.

You could try getting a rottwieler that's been fed gunpowder to guard your car during this perilous time.
