White Smoke problems on my 93' E500
 

I had my injector nozzles cleaned, and as they were replaced my car started to emit white smoke from the exhaust. I took the car to my MB workshop, they carried out all electrical diagnostics and found no problem, but the car still continues to give off this white smoke.
I replaced the egine oil and filter, and problem still persists.
Has anybody any ideas on what i should do?

When does it smoke? Has the coolant level dropped significantly? What do the plugs look like? It may be a bad head gasket.

I changed the plugs after the smoking started and it didn't make a difference.
As you start the engine it starts to smoke, it gets worse when ever I put my foot on the gas.
Coolant level dropped when I revd the engine and thought I could get rid of excess carbon.
Pls help!

Smell the exhaust ( not too long ).
If it has a sweet smell to it, I would suspect it may be coolant.

You may want to look at all eight plugs. If there's a coolant leak into the cylinder, the plug will look clean. It will also narrow down the location of the leak. Moisture in the cylinders has a cleaning effect on the carbon deposits.

The smoke from the exhaust smells like ATF. I'll check on the new plugs for leakages.

ATF can cause a white exhaust
 

mrjack, you may be onto something. Does your car come equipped with a transmission modulator? I know on old-style cars these often went bad resulting in ATF getting sucked into the engine via the vacuum line from the transmission regulator.

Check all your vacuum lines - especially the ones from the transmission - and see if they are wet on the inside with ATF.

Do a compression test

We checked the vacuum lines but there is no leakage.
I noticed my engine oil level dropped. But the car had never smoked prior to the nozzle service.

We carried out a compression test at the local MB workshop, it was positive.

Suggest that you carefully look for signs of a head gasket leak. This just happened on my 300E.

Coolant was disappearing but no signs of a leak.

Turns out it was leaking into the front cylinder. Pulled the plugs and found one wet one. Cranked engine with all plugs removed and water came out like a geyser from the front cylinder.

How is the engine temp? If it starts to rise above normal, turn on the heater and pull over to let it cool.

Call a flatbed or you might warp the head(s).

Coolant should not leak. It's going somewhere and white smoke usually means a head gasket leak.

Disappearing Engine Oil!

Latest on the smoking problem is, my egine oil seems to be disappearing faster than my gas.... Yap its running pretty high on the temperature!
Somebody suggested a faulty valve seal. We are having that checked out 2morrow.
Any more suggestions?

Will, oil leakage would be blue smoke.

Perhaps you now have two problems. First, I would check the drain plug and the tightness of the oil filter.

Has the coolant stopped leaking? Are you still adding to the tank?

he's right, engine oil would be BLUE smoke..

unless you have 2 problems at once.

The coolant still leaks, Its strange but the smoke is white and I am loosing a lot of engine oil! Mind u I can't see any physical leakage. I am yet to check the plugs again.
