300E driver door panel removal

I need to take the driver door panel off because the window motor is slipping and window operation is intermittant. WHAT A PAIN IN THE A$$. I have removed everything from the light on the bottom, the bolt on the door grip, the side mirror screw, the door lock button, the plastic trim around both seat switch and chrome door handle. The thing won't budge. There is a black plastic piece behind the chrome door handle that has an outer lip at the top and the bottom that curves around the edges of door panel itself. I have tried the "push up on the door panel" method and the thing won't move. Does the inner black plastic piece behind the chrome door handle need to come out?

Thanks

OK. I must be a "gurly-man". I got the damn thing off. It turns out that it was the lip of the black plastic inner piece behind the chrome door handle that was in the way of the panel. And boy was that panel stuck on there! Now, why is the window motor spinning but my window is not moving?

Thanks

Now, why is the window motor spinning but my window is not moving?...because there is a plastic wheel inside with (probaby) no teeth.:D
I think there are two parts in the front, the motor and the window regulator. Check wich is the one you need. You may need both. In the rear, they come as one piece.
Fast lane should have them both.;)

The window is rolling down fine. When I roll it up it stops about 1/4 inch from completely closing. I inspected the teeth on the window regulator while rolling the window up and down with the door panel off and I found about 5 teeth missing from the thing. I guess its time for a new regulator, I saw one at Performance for 80 bucks. Do I need a rivet gun for this one?
