Transmission Rebuilder, SF Bay Area???

My rebuilt engine is finally about ready to go back into my 85, 300SD. I think it is wise to also rebuild the transmission as it was flaring quite a bit from 3-4. It is a 722.416 model and I can easily pull it and bring it to a rebuilder. Question: Can anyone recommend a good shop fairly locally in the San Francisco region and what should it cost for a bring-in rebuild for that model?
Many thanks!

Yes they are in Burlingame on Rollins Road. I have heard good things about them as well.

My guess is about $2,200 installed. Prices would vary depending on whether a torque conver is needed as well.

Are you sure the trasmission needs an overhaul? Have you tried to adjust it and check the typical items that can make it flare?

Keep us posted,

Haasman

I wish I still lived in the Bay Area so I could still use this guy in San Jose. The Auto House may still be open. He is off of 101 by the airport. I am sorry I do not remember the address.

Try also Paul's Autowerks (or something like that) on Terra Bella in Mtn View off Shoreline.

Didn't have a replacement tranny for my SE ready to go so he rebuilt mine.
