190E spark plug connector
 

While replacing the plugs on my 87 190E the wire seperated from one plug connector. I've seen the connectors advertised seperately. Can it be disassembled and the wire reconnected?
If so how?

BTW, thanks to all that offered advice on my heater problem. It was just as simple as a couple vacuum leaks.

The wire screws into the connector that attaches to the spark plug. The end of the wire should have a short, thin metal stud that looks like a fine threaded screw on the end. That part screws into a female piece down inside the resistor(piece that connects to spark plug).

If nothing's damaged, you should be able to easily reconnect the two pieces. I just went out in the garage and took apart and reassembled a spare Bosch wire in about 30 secs.

Ahha! That's pretty simple! Now I've got the threaded stud out, but unfortunately my problem is the wire has broken away from that.
I see it was originally crimped into the stud. Do you know if these studs can be purchased separately, or do they come with a new resistor?
I thought of driving a fine punch down into it to "uncrimp" it, but I'm sure I'd trash the threads in doing so.
Other than this the wires are in excelent shape and it's not in my nature to toss them for one little thing like this, if it can be fixed.

I had the same problem, I fixed it by drilling a little hole just in front of the thread, then squeesing the wire in and soldering it up, now it holds well and conducts even better.

I also saw a post somewhere that you can break away pieces of the ceramic boot and solder whe wire directly on there, but I don't want to try that.

be careful if you solder the treads it's garbage so protect them in some way
