89 420 with leather. Driver seat with the perforated insets (tiny little holes in the material) on the base and seatback, with solid leather on the edges, is starting to develop several small tears in the perforation. My question is...is it cheaper to get a used seat or expert upholstery repair? Thanks for your suggestions...

Hunter,

With this horribly cold weather we've been experiencing, I also noticed that my MB-Tex has developed two hairline tears in the otherwise immaculate interior (driver's seat). I guess because the weather is so cold, I sat in the car and the covering tore. I want to do something before the tears become noticeable to the untrained eye. I keep the interior oiled all year, but I guess that only does so much good. As far as your leather, I would think the only fix is to have the seats recovered, although maybe someone has a better (and cheaper) fix.
