Differential Change ?'s
Currently I have an 87 190 Dt (auto) and I was wondering if the limited slip differential from the 190E 2.3-16 would interchange?
Do these two differentials have extremely different ratios? What would I gain/lose? Please advise. Thanks!! |

Should be a bolt-in. US spec 16V has a 3.27:1 ratio (Euro spec is 3.07:1), which is the same as your 2.3. What you gain is a limited slip differential.

I think the question remains -- what's the ratio on a 190D 2.5t?

How would I find out the ratio on the 190D 2.5t? It's not listed in the maintenance CD.

I misread the model in the original post. Axle ratios are in the marketing brochures. For '88 the axle ratio for the 190D 2.5 is 3.07:1. Don't have an '87 brochure, but you can always jack it up and count turns.
