I think your transmission like my '94 uses regular ATF and not synthetic. The recommended change interval is about 30,000 miles. It is a cheap job even when performed by a dealer. Worth the worry factor IMO.

I don't know. I assume 1996 and 1997's have one because the engine is a carry-over from 1993-1995.

I could be wrong, though. It wouldn't be the first time.
