Just a suggestion guys, do you think your bodies are aging and the 'horrible' mercedes seats are worse because your comparing your seats to ones you sat in 10 years ago?

Personally, I like my butt as low as possible. Also prevents sliding under a seat belt in an accident.

I installed GTI seats in my VW, and I like them much much more. Long trips are no longer a problem. I plan to purchase a W124 in the future and have been wondering what I could do in the seat department as these cars are getting on in their years and will need some freshening.

Anyone try the Sportline seats? These are the same as the 500E seats right?

Mike

About how much have you guys jacked up the front of the seat? Did you have to buy a longer bolt so it still reaches to the floor?

What did you use for "jacking material"? Washers?

Thanks...

seat swap

hey there...

does anyone know how to swap JUST the seat bottom of the driver's and passenger's seat? is it relatively simple?

i rebuilt the front seats of my w123, and it didn't seem like it was possible tos wap seat bottoms because of the way the seat belt attached and the seat adjustment (foward/backward) lever. maybe the w124 is different? i hope?

i ask because despite the fact that my w124 wagon has only 100K miles, the driver's side sags just slightly and it annoys me. i want extra support on the window side.

thanks!
eric
