replacement drive shaft nuts and bolts

I was wondering any anyone knows a source for very good qualty self locking nuts and bolts that would fit on w201 driveshaft, to mount it to the flex discs.

I ordered replacement discs and they came with really crappy quality bolts. Since I had to fix up the shaft myself, the bolts started stripping.

Right now I am using the old bolts with threadlock, but I would like to have something that is meant to last down there.

The old bolts will do fine but if the bolts were crap how about the disc?

Rubber parts are one of the things one must really stay on top of when buying parts.

The discs seem to be doing fine for now, they didn't fit as well as the previous ones, but I'll be getting on that soon, just need to polish up the joints and all will be good

the bolts on the other hand seem to be a bit short, and one of the stripped when I tried to torque it to the right force.

I will have to take them off again, to fix up the remaining problems, and for that I would like to get some good quality nuts and bolts, I don't want the driveshaft falling apart on me.

If you wish the proper bolts, get them from MB. In small quantities MB sells their nuts and bolts as cheap as anyone. Unless that is, your dealer uses a matrix price system on parts.

I'll give them a call and find out, but as far as i can tell the dealers here in Canada charge 3X as much for anything really.

What I was wondering is if there is some other place you could get some industrial strength self locking bolts for this.

I'll see if that compnay Brafasco has anything to offer.

The problem with these bolts is that one doesn't know the d3sign criteria so its hard to buy generic bolts. Many of the discs use a special bolt but the latest ones could probably be replaced with a good quality bolt.

worst case scenario I give the dealer a ring :)

Thanx steve
