My car, an '87 Euro 300D has a switch for the telescopic steering column. It has never functioned since purchased. Incidentally I bought the car used.

I have the 124 CD, but can't see info on how to gain access to the motor. The CD however shows that there is a circuit breaker near the telescopic motor.

Can somebody please advise me on how to gain access to the motor or it's circuit breaker?

Thanks a lot to you all.

All you have to do is pull the driver's side lower dash panel off. It is pretty straight forward.

Jake,

My diagram also shows a circuit breaker. It seems to me that the circuit breaker is part of the motor to protect it from overloading.

You should be able to troubleshoot the problem with a volt/ohm meter. Your steering column switch may be more complex than the US model becasue it has to do the positve/negative switching. In th US, the column switch grounds one signal or another from a memory seat control unit and the control unit will take care of the up/down movement accordingly.

Good luck

David
