1987 260E Occassionally the htr begins a high pitch whine. I'm sure after all the years the bearings are about to give up the ghost. Any fixes other than r&r the blower? How difficult a job is it?

Not really a DIY job, & yes the blower motors will wear out. 2-3 hours of shop labor should be expected, 13 years on original motor is darn good.
