Should this grease be here?????
I'm in the process of pulling the front suspension apart on the 560SEL a suspension overhaul and found something that just doesn't look right. When I pulled the rotors I found the ABS pick-up sensor and the trough in the backing plate to be packed with bearing grease. The toothed ring on the rotor was packed as well.
I can't tell yet if the inner seal is leaking grease into the area or if the last person to work on front end purposely packed the area with grease. I spent a while last night looking through the manual but couldn't find anything regarding grease v. dry and the antilock sensor. Should this grease be here?

It would seem to me if the seal had leaked grease, you would find it a lot more places than just there. I seems rather risky for contaminating the disk and pads to me, unless there is some kind of baffle.
