W124 sudden brake loss
Was pulling into the local target and I was slowing down for a speed bump. I heard a mechanically pop (thats the best I can describe it) and the brake pedal went down to the floor.
Pulled into a parking spot and turned the engine off. I was then able to pump the brake pedal until it was stiff. When I turned the engine back on the brakes were extremely mushy and the car pulls to one side and one caliper is making a groaning sound I can't figure out which one. The stopping power is decreased dangerously. None of this happened before the incident. Any insights appreciated. Thanks.

Yal,
Look around on the side opposite to the direction it pulls. Chances are you'll see brake fluid leaks, they will be close to where the problem lies. My money's on a split flexible hose......

Thanks for the response Paul. No leaks though.
Just got news that the mastercylinder went south on me  I heard something go, even with the music up, so I knew it had to be something around the drivers side area. The car didn't exactly pull during braking more like it was trying to decide which way to pull if that makes any sense. I only lost pedal pressure with the engine on. I was still able to make it to my mechanic with about 1/4 pressure. I knew it had to be a blown seal in the mastercylinder. I had to top it up for the first time ever about 2 weeks ago, so something was up  Hope this helps someone.
