Changing trans cooling hoses.....
Has anyone in here ever changes there own trans cooling hoses?
It looks and sound pretty simple but would like some feedback. |
that's weird I just posted about this today... anyway plan on taking them out later this afternoon and bringing them to the parts shop, putting it all back together by tomorrow night, if you haven't done it by then I'll tell you how it went on an 85 190e.

That's weird as I needed to replace one today (below the radiator) as it was leaking.
It was an easy job, about 20 minutes. JackD |
20 minutes max
Mine needed a little liquid wrench to come off easily which they eventually did. If you engine compartment is similar to a 190e you might find it helpful to unclip the plastic piece surrounding the fan. This will give your wrench some wiggle room when you try to get at that last pesky nut on the radiator. not a tough job really, think all of ~50ml came out as result.

Are there and E420 or E500 owners that have done this in here? Is it very complicated on model year 1994 which is what I have?

When I changed the waterpump on my 400E I had to take the radiator out and in doing so had to disconnect the transmission cooling lines. They came out easily from the radiator; and when under the car they looked easy to get at, although i did not see where they connected at the transmission.
