Gave My Cabin Filter a Bath

Popped out my cabin filter Saturday and, like many others have experienced, found it probably had never been changed. Filled up our kitchen sink with warm soapy water and gave the filter a bath. After two or three changes of water it was clean as can be!

Unless I'm mistaken, I just saved myself at least $25. Whether you choose to do it is up to you (Read: Disclaimer), but it might be a way to save a few bucks, which is always a good thing!

Dan

Sounds intriguing, not sure of the efficacy of the wash.

The only thought I'd have is to *thoroughly* dry the filter to minimize the probability of creating a damp area for potentially smelly mildew and bacteria to grow, especially given the warmer spring/summer climate.

Question

Stupid question of the day: I have an '84 380SE. Do I have a cabin filter that can be cleaned, and if so, where is the little darlin?

Not sure. But here's a link to a thread on this site (including another link to the Bosch web site) that might help. Do a search on "cabin filter." There's lots of info. Dan
