Torque spec for 300E motor mount bracket

Has anyone ever seen a torque spec for the L shaped bracket that bolts onto the block with the other end attached to the motor mount? Specifically for the bolts that go thru the bracket into the block.

The only thing I have found even close is on the CD; it is for a 616 and 617 engine; the picture is not similar to a 300E, and I am unfamiliar with these engines, except to know that I have never heard mine called either.

For that matter, is there a PDF on the CD that lists the torque specifications for major subassemblies on this car? I have not yet found one, and individual r&r proceedures do not seem to frequently include this information.

If there is no published spec, I will be happy with what someone else has used.

Just snug it up tight. Torque specs are for items that are critical or where it is important to have uniform bolt tightness.

Good luck,

Larry,

The bracket looks aluminum, and I was worried I might crack it if I overtightened it. I wonder if that might be what happened to the old one. I measured from the top of the rubber to the cross-member and it is about 30mm, so it seems a fair guess the PO replaced them.

As luck would have it, a thunderstorm knocked out power here for about an hour last night and I pulled out the lantern and started reading the Haynes manual which arrived last week.

Listed right after the crankshaft oil seal is:

Engine mounting to engine mounting bracket bolts.....41 ft/lb
Engine mounting to crossmember bolts.....30 ft/lb
Engine mounting bracket bolts.....18 ft/lb
