380 sl with steering freeplay
 

Looking for some guidance on the steering on my 83 sl roadster. Car has 60K and I am experiencing a good 1/4 turn of free play in the center of the steering. It is feels much worse at highway speeds. Can anyone comment on the procedure/costs or advise on fixing this?

Common problem with the 107s. There is a running debate on the value of adjusting the "steering gear box" as opposed to replacing. The following thread should shed some light.
