took out idle control valve. cleaned and did hot water test but valve did not close.
i also pulled out electric connector while engine running, but no change in RPM speed. it is suppose to rev higher, but did not. before i buy the $200+ unit, are there any other test i need to do to ensure that it is in fact defective.
my car has developed a sudden high idle at park and cold start problem. thanks for any input. joel

UHHHHHH? Hot water test?? Do you know something I don't? To test, you need to use the amperage method as outlined in the manual. You should probably invest in the CD we have for it has ALL of the engine diagnostics. (you will need the 124 discs)

sorry for the confusion. i believe i was referring to the air slide.

If you mean the Aux Air Slide. Used in the cold start circuit.

Put it in the freezer for 10mins then run the hot water test ..if theres no change then its u\s.

Also check that there is 12 volts at the plug to the air slide when the engine is cold.
