alarm & remote starter

I am attempting to install an alarm/car starter on my 95/E320. So far I have the alarm working and the remote starter feature, but I am at a quandry how to install the door lock features. I have read the enclosed faq, and understand it, but I require wire locations on my MB. I could easily hook up wires to the convience or vaccum pump under the rear seat, but I cannot see how to route the wires to the alarm control unit under the steering wheel. All I need is one of the door lock wires to make the modification. Is there a door lock wire under the steering wheel? Where or how do the wires route from the door to under the rear bench seat (I don't want to be tearing up the carpet in a wild goose chase)?

Your knowledgable responses would be greatly appreciated.

Ron

I just finished mine. Same car. If you look under the carpet near the door opening. You will see a black plastic conduit holding wires that go to the back. One of them is blue and that is connected to the door wire. Just hook your DLSV to that wire and you're done.

Did you hook up your remote start behind the instrument cluster? What a pain that was...

tales from the benz

Ya...I installed everything under the dash, but I cheated, there had been a previous unit installed so most of the wiring was already in place. Just the door locking/unlocking and siren contact.

I know its a blue wire for the door lock on the driver side (green for the passenger) but I have to splice the wire and install two relays so that the system will work. I'll install the relays under the steering wheel and run two wires to the plastic cable tray. Should be pretty simple.

I just went out and disassembled to the black plastic cable tray. There's about 8 different braided wire assemblies in there. If I can get some direction on which one needs to be uncovered (ie the black protection wire wrap) so that I don't just go in and chew it to pieces I would really appreciate it.
