Axxis / PBR Deluxe vs Deluxe plus
2 questions.
First, is there a difference between the Axxis and PBR versions of these pads? (I know they're the same company) Second, what's the difference between the Deluxe and the Deluxe plus? (I did read everything I could at the website). Which do you recommend? Thanks!

They are more or less the same. I do know that the deluxe makes less dust. But here is the information between their pads from the Axxis website.

I used the deluxe plus for about a year and a half with new rotors. Very rotor friendly the dust was minimal and it took about a week of driving to get the pads dirty and even then it was minimal and easy to clean with a dry rag.
I just put on the deluxe pads with new rotors again. Right of the bat they are smoother and do have less dust. I think they are softer. My guess is they would probably not be as good with repeated heavy braking but I have only had them on a week so I don't know. |

Thats what I meant, the new ones I put on last week are the deluxe non-plus ones. So basically I have gone from the plus to the non-plus. Sorry for the confusion I just re-read my post above and it confused me too

Why did you switch? Which do you like better? Also, where did you buy them?

I bought the deluxe here in fastlane at the top of the page (PBR deluxe). I bought the deluxe plus at www.brakewarehouse.com after they tried to sell me the metal masters
I changed the pads because my master cylinder gave up the ghost and when everything was put back together the right caliper seized up. So I said I might as well get everything replaced. I got new rebuilt calipers and new rotors. I still had 1/4 life left on the pads but because I had new rotors I went ahead and changed them to. Thats the story. |

PBR Deluxe
I have a 86 300e, have had it for 5yrs, and I got tired of new front pads every 10k to 12k, not to mention the black dust...I had used PBR's on my 240 Volvo's to keep them from scretching....So I put a set (PBR Deluxe) on the front of the 300e, it has been about 25k and I am very happy w/ the braking and hardly any dust...I had also changed the front rotors at that time as the dealer had said that at the next pad change I would have to get new rotors...They gave me a quote of over $300.....I got the rotors, pads and sensors over the internet for $105. ..That's w/ shipping included.....So I would highly recommend the PBR Deluxe....

OK its been 3 weekends of spirited driving and I have not had to clean my wheels once PBR Deluxe Rocks!!

I would go with the Non-plus. I feel they are almost identical to OE except dust.

I've had the PBR Deluxe on the fronts for a couple months now. I'm VERY happy with them!
As for the dust: I don't think that they are necessarily producing LESS dust than an OEM pad....I think that they simply produce a type of dust that: 1) Doesn't stick to the wheels as easily 2) Is a lighter colored dust that doesn't show up on wheels very well. In either case, I'll be putting them on the back brakes when they need changing.
