1999 E320 question

Hi all, I'm new here, I just got my first Benz, E320, and I have a question, since I don't have the owner's manual. Does anyone know what the button with the pic of the car being towed mean? I pushed that button yesterday and the car died and wouldn't start. I'm so upset and feeling extremly stupid, any help would be appreciated. Also can you tell me where to find an owner manual, my dealer keeps on promising to get me one, but he never delivers

It shouldn't have made your car stall or fail to start.
What it is, is before you lock the doors, you push that switch, then the car can be towed without the anti-theft alarm going off. So basically it shuts off the anti-tow sensor.

If you are willing to pay for the owners manual, call 1 800 FOR MERCedes, during regular business hours (say 9 to 5 M-F, eastern time) and they can hook you up.

The car was towed, and was checked up at the shop. The mechanic said there was nothing wrong with the car, but on my way home the same thing happened. After 15 minutes, I finally got the car to start, again. Then after another two or three miles, it stopped. I opened the hood, and checked to see if the gas was coming to the engine. The gas was okay. I took one of the spare plugs, and checked for electricity. I found out that there was no electricity coming to the plug. Then the car started, again. I let it rest every 10-15 minutes.

Any ideas? Sensor? Computer? What else should I check?

could be one of the computer modules glitching. all too frequent a problem.

get it somewhere to someone with a computer to wring out the computer modules.

The V-6 engines had a problem with the flywheel crankshaft sensor & your symptoms match that problem.
