Unhappy 1990 300SE/M103 Stalling and Stuttering upon accelaration

Hello all, I have recently encountered some problems with my car. As of late is has started to stutter upon acceleration, at times coming to a complete stall. Upon doing this you can floor the gas and the car goes nowhere, RPM does not change out of idle. Anyone with any input on how to remedy this problem? As well, my fuel pump is annoyingly loud, creating a whine sound when inside the car, is it normal? And my last problem would be that my intake is always filled with fuel, is this normal. I am new to Mercedes so any and all help is appreciated. Thank you.

Cheers

Rohin

When you say "intake" are you talking about the air cleaner housing and duct between the air cleaner housing and air inlet behind the grille?

Yes this is a problem - a BIG problem and there is probably a relationship between this and the lack of engine response. Fuel in the air cleaner and inlet duct could indicate a major fuel leak into the air flow meter plenum. The PCV configuration and function should also be checked.
