Was hoping if anyone could tell me what should the correct contact breaker gap be on a M115 (W123 200)? The chilton book says 47-53 degree dwell but how does that translate if I want to use a feeler gauge to measure the gap? Thank you.

Set the points to 15 thou.

My specs. call for .016 , 47-53 dwell.
Fortunately for us vintage Benzheads, a point conversion is readily available, short $$$, easy to do, and they never ran so well. Mechanical switching has it's dis-advantages and require maintaining. The new coversions run flawlessly. There are both optical and Hall effect systems out there. I personally like the Crane Cams opti units. Less than $100. [ Formerly Allison] www.cranecams.com. Petronics [sp?] sells the hall effect ones. No need to change the coil. The stock one is fine. |
thanks for the info! don't think i'll be changing anything but the breaker gap though :)

The old Austrian bloke that started the Benz shop I work in ,Est.1964 , said, "All CB points set to 15 thou". And thats good enough for me.
