I NOTICED TODAY WHILST UNDER THE BONNET OF MY 83 500 SE THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS ARE STAMPED 116 FOLLOWED BY VARIOUS OTHER NUMBERS.
DOES THIS MEAN MY 500 SE HAS BEEN FITTED AT SOME POINT WITH 380 MOTOR??? ARE THERE ANY EASY WAYS TO TELL. THE CHASSIS PLATE DEFINATELY MAKKES THE CAR A 500 AND SO DOES THE REGISTRATION DOCUMENT. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. |

On the rear of the left side of the cylinder head you will see an engine # . Write it down and let us see.
