While looking for what is causing a vibration from 55 to60 mph in an 83 300d i loosened the boot on the iner cv joint to check it and oil ran out ,should they have grease or oil for lube ? also rh axle has approx 100 thousands end play could this be what is causing the vibration ?

The grease in that version axle shaft is somewhat a liquid when they are new.
IS this a "new" vibration or has it been there all along?

the vibration has been there since i got the car about ayear &a half i checked tires ect when i jack the car up & put it in gear the rr axle seems to run a little out of round making me think it was the inner cv joint but icould not find any play other than end play i'm out of answers maybe the rear end bearing ?
