Lowering diff...help

I am in the middle of replacing my rear subframe bushings and differential mount. While I am doing all this, I want to take off the differential cover and reseal it since it is weeping. Since the upper 2 bolts for the differential cover are concealed by the frame crossmember, I thought this would be a great time to do this since taking off the diff mount lowers the diff...to get the the bolts, and the nut strip inside the frame for the diff mount. I let down the diff (limited slip) all the way, and it lowered it a good 1.5-2 inches, but it still needs to go down about another inch before I can get to the upper 2 bolts. How do I get the diff to go down another inch or so? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I've looked at his site before, but my differential looks completely different than his. Mine is a limited slip. When I drop the diff as far as it will go, I still need about another inch until I can access the top two bolts on the cover.

Also, what type of socket do I need to unscrew the housing from the subframe? It looks like an internal 12 point or something...where would I get this socket??? Also, where can one buy the huge hex head for the drain and fill plugs??
