Howdy,

I was a wonderin' if, given the proper tools, jack stands and floor-jack, one could change the shocks and (maybe) springs on a 107. Is it a reasonable job for an 'at home' recreational mechanic that has yet to put a hydraulic lift in their garage (I'm planning on getting one, just don't have it yet !). Anybody with firsthand experience doing this job as described and can offer an opinion on whether it's worthwhile or a pain-in-the-arse would be appreciated.

By the way, I'm planning on using HD Bilsteins. Any opinion on that would be appreciated as well.

Thank you all.

The spring should be handled with care...If it pops out, it could hurt you. Remember, there is alot of potential energy stored in a spring that holds up a car and passengers.

Hi Steve,
Don't have any advice about the suspension work, but I'm running on the Bilstein HD shocks - and they're great. I'm sure you like them as they are well suited for heavy MBs.
