Ugg.....my window just STOPPED working

Hello,
On my 1991 300SL the right power window just stopped working.
On minute it was just fine now its stuck in the down position. Thinking it was perhaps the switch I used the soft top switch as it activates the windows when the top it put up but still no response from the window. So my questions are this. What is wrong and can some one tell me how to remove the door panel to get at the guts inside.

are you sure it's not the switch?

Before you go ripping into the "guts", are you sure you have power to the switch and that the switch tests good?

I don't think whether the switch has power or not makes a difference because the window did not work when I used the soft top process.

Check the fuse. Located in the trunk on the right side near the top behind a black cover. There is a seperate fuse for the left and right side windows. 16 amp red fuse if I remember. Fuse located in there also for soft top electrics. If you have the older style silver color fuses, consider upgrading to newer brass colored fuses. The new fuses don't corrode like the old ones do. I hope its only the fuse and not the motor. Search for my post on how to get into the door panel if you need to get to the window motor. Good luck. Tod

Glad you're window is fixed

Allen,

Sorry, I didnt know that on an SL the window will go up without use of a switch.

Anyways, glad you're back in service.

You can get a fuse upgrade kit at **************.com

Frank
