Question 1983 380 SEC gas tank cleaning

I am rebuilding the engine on my 1983 380 SEC. I recently purchased the car after it sat for 11 years in a garage with the heads and intake manifold removed. (The single row timing chain broke). Can anyone recommend a good method to clean the gas tank after I remove it from the car, and flush the fuel lines. It smells like pure varnish after all those years. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

Most radiator shops clean gas tanks.
