I'm not sure why you need the 500E assemblies if you mean by 'driving lights' what I call 'daytime running lights'. All Euro headlight assemblies are clear glass across the headlamps and fogs. Consequently, I use the fog section as daytime running lights - standard practice here in Canada, but a major annoyance to some drivers in the US (which you'll soon find out). The fogs use a 55W H3 bulb which is plenty bright enough. However, I suggest installing the bulb-type with a slight yellowish hue. The yellow is only barely noticeable, but enough to prevent oncoming traffic from confusing the extra set of lights with high-beams. If this is what you intended, the assemblies I referenced will do it. Or did I miss something, and you have another purpose in mind? Barrie In relpy to: Barrie One more quick question. Either in brine conditions or in drizzling conditions where it hasn't rained hard enough to wash off the roads, the headlights can get filthy. The headlight cleaners do help.

Barrie, The 500E has driving lights where the fog lights are and the fog lights are relocated under the bumper at each end of the intake grill. The physical arrangements are very different. My point is that you need to decide how you want to use your lights, and whether you can get double-duty out of the fog section. In my situation, the fog section is used continuously as a daytime driving light, and maybe once a year as a fog light. In any event, it does both jobs very well. If you install the 500E components you'll need to do your homework on the physical fit and electrical conversion. Let me know what you decide. Barrie |

I called LuxEuro week before last, and the woman I talked to was going to call me back last week about shipping, currency conversion, and any need for different electrical connectors for my car. Didn't hear anything so I contacted PartsShop on the feedback section about the demand - they are going to look into it. I like my Euro lights, but I still don't know what wipers to use! Anybody have any experience? I would hate to buy something and then they not work.

You have several options (all of which will work):
1) Buy the Euro motors, arms and blades for several hundred dollars. I can give you the part nos. if you really want to go this route. 2) Use your current motors/arms by making a bracket as described in my post above. 3) Use the USA motor, but replace the arms and blades with the Euro versions. I haven't tried this yet, but it's the route that I'm considering. All of these options will require a relocation of the hole in the lower trim plate. Won't those motor/wiper from last W124s fit?? I thought they have Euro-Type headlights(one piece)??? Just wondering...

Andy,
The wiper motor/arms should work fine, but the motor mounting on the Euro light assembly may not be the same as on the USA version. If that's the case, you'll need to fabricate a bracket. It's even possible that in the later models MB used the same motors on both the Euro and US versions (ingenious!). I'm sure Benzmac can provide this info re compatibilty/interchangeability. Barrie |

Hey Barrie, if you could have your MB keyboard send out information on those euro headlights it would be greatly appreciated. I just replaced my headlight doors and already regretting it after hearing of your successfull conversion.
