ABS and ASR lights on..Any ideas???
This one has got the MB techs stumped. Three times now while driving both the ABS and ASR lights have come on at the same time. They remain on until the key is cycled. The weird thing is that the techs swear that there are no codes in any of the computers. Any ideas?? I was told to check the cruise control next time the lights come on so I will report back with the results ASAP. My "amateur" opinion is that it is either a brake light switch or more likely a speed sensor. The wiring harness has already been replaced a while back so that can be ruled out.

I am curious to see what kind of answers are posted, as my E420 just started doing the same thing about 5 days ago.

On some cars that's an indication of a low voltage condition caused by a faulty voltage regulator. ~$40 from FastLane.

I would vote for the low voltage condition also.

Recycle this post
I am recycling this post to the top to see if anyone has found the answer. I have a friends' 98 S420 that has the ABS, and the "BAS-ASR" Lights come on 3 months ago. I dont know why, but I am searching high and low to find out. Please post here as I am suscribing to this post.
